It has been quite a year for the grande dame of luxury children and kiddieswear, designer Nicki MacFarlane. First, the Royal Wedding and the huge response her little bridesmaids attracted, and now some superb new ranges which will launch in 2012
Why rest on your immaculate laurels while fashion commentators worldwide are applauding you, when you can work round the clock and continue to produce evermore exciting additions to your collections? Nicki MacFarlane and daughter Charlotte are passionate about their product and continue to educate tastes, inspire ideas and dress small people in quintessentially English style. Since the wedding last April, the mother and daughter team have launched a marvellous First Holy Communion collection which met with instant sucess and is now being enlarged; they have extended their RTW flower-girl and pageboy range, and introduced accessories for the little ones; and, over that same period, they have built their stockist network and now boast 40 premium retailers across the globe, including Harrods in London and Bergdorf Goodman in New York. As if that is not enough in a matter of months, they have collaborated on a special collection for John Lewis.
At White Gallery 2012 (20-22 May) the company will be launching a new collection of dresses for bridesmaids in the 12-18 age group that will be glamorous, fun-to-wear and will tie in with the children’s collection in colour and style references. Expect to see dresses that teenagers will fall in love with, but that mothers-of-the-bride will think are beautiful too.
