Ritva: glamour like never before
The long-awaited images of Ritva Westenius’s 2012 collection and promotional campaign have just been released. And they are everything one would expect from this mastercraftsman of bridal design
Here is the collection for the modern bride who is exacting in her standards and wants wants a perfectly-cut, elegant gown which flatters her shape and uses the most luxurious fabrics possible. From classically elegant tailoring to flamboyant contemporary cuts, this latest range from the much-feted, award-winning designer is rich in the beautifully intricate details she is known and loved for. There are one after the other show-stopping gowns with stunning highlights including beaded belts, billowing chiffon skirts and floral embroidery, and some brilliant examples of couture draping that forms shape within shape.

Bedazzled – a strapless gown with boned bodice and sweetheart neckline with skirt panning out from the lower hip forming a flattering silhouette. It is made using beaded and gold thread embroidered on tulle lace over Champagne silk slipper satin.
Cadogan – a fashionable lace bodice with v-neckline and covered shoulders and diamond-shaped opening at the back. The column-shaped dress with a flared skirt, with a long train and lace-trimmed hemline. The fabrics are silk slipper satin and hand-beaded corded lace.
Heavenly – this softly-flowing gown in organza over taffeta, is fitted over the hips and features a crystal and glass bead waist detail with a large organza rose detachable corsage over one shoulder.

Twilight – something extra special, a fishtail satin gown with hand-beaded lace detailing, worn with a lace coat with beaded edging.
Mystical - a ravishingly pretty, boned-bodice column dress in satin that pans out towards the hem. A flurry of ostrich feathers form the collar and fringe the hemline.
Radiance – this romantic lace gown has a separate tulle cape bordered in intricate lace, and beading on the bodice and hem.
All gowns are made to measure in Ritva’s central London studio. Retail prices range between £3,000 and £6,000.
